Web Hosting Plus is a service provided by WorldWide Plus and we have been providing high quality web hosting and domain services since 1997, using fast UK based web servers for speed and reliability. Our aim is to provide you with a great all round service that you will be happy with and continue to use and enjoy for many years to come.
We also pride ourselves on our fast technical support to resolve any problems and answer any questions you may encounter as quickly as possible. We care about the service we provide you with and your satisfaction is very important to us.
These are some of the reasons that help provide you with a great service:
Connectivity
Multiple 10Gb Connections to the Internet
Our network is based on multiple 10 gigabit technology, which means that it runs at a speed of 10 Gb per second – most web hosting networks are limited to much less.
Fast Network
We operate a redundant network, meaning that we have multiple multi-gigabit connections to the internet with different backbone providers. In the event that any connection fails, our other connections automatically take all the traffic, meaning that we’re highly unlikely to lose connectivity to the internet. We also benefit from Tier 1 connectivity for super-fast internet speeds at all times.
Hosted on Dell Super Servers
We use only Cisco, Juniper and Dell systems in our web hosting platform. Utilising state-of-the-art technology we have built a web hosting platform that is second to none.
Our current server specification is:
- Dual Quad Core Intel® Xeon® processors
- 32 GB RAM
- Dual SAS Drive (for the operating system)
- RAID Mirroring (for the operating system)
- Dual Power Supplies
- Dual Gigabit Network Adapters
UK Data Centre
Redundant Data Backup
Our network arrays operate RAID, a way of configuring a system so a disk can fail with no impact to data. We also operate our network arrays in mirrored pairs so a whole array can fail with no impact. Each array is also backed up each night to a separate backup cluster which is then written to tape and stored offsite.
Our backup procedure goes above and beyond the majority of web hosting companies.
Redundant Power Feeds
Each rack has 2 independent power feeds, fed from 2 diverse connections to the national grid.
Should one or both of these feeds fail then 4 UPS battery backup systems will cover immediate power requirements. All power to the cabinets is supplied via the UPS to maintain clean supply to the servers.
Redundant Standby Generators
If mains power is not restored within 10 seconds then 3 diesel powered generators will start providing full continuous power to the data centre.
Spare fuel for the generators is stored on-site and contracts are in place with fuel companies to deliver continuous emergency fuel for a virtually unlimited amount of time.
Redundant Cooling Systems
The data centre is fully climate controlled with Cybercool Air Conditioning Systems. The system monitors and controls the temperature and humidity levels.
Drip sensors located below floor monitor for any leaks in the system. Cold air is forced underneath raised flooring into the bottom of each server rack, and vacuumed out of the top providing maximum cooling efficiency. The position of each server rack/apparatus is calculated by a dedicated deployment team to further optimise cooling efficiency.
24 X 7 X 365 Onsite Manned
All our support engineers are highly trained employees who care about your problem. Our aim is to resolve your problems the first time around. We are always available to help 24x7x365.
Fire Suppression
Fire protection is provided by a Fire Suppression System which fills the sealed data centre with gas to extinguish any fire quickly without the use of water and without damage to any equipment.
CCTV and Smart Card Access
CCTV
The data centre is monitored by cctv both externally and internally. All CCTV images are recorded and stored for at least 3 months.
Secure Fence
The building is surrounded by a 3 metre perimeter fence. Gates are locked outside of normal business hours.
Secure Fob Access
There are two locking doors to go through for access to each of the separate data halls within DC2. These are locked and can only be opened using Secure Fobs which are only held by named staff.
