How do I add SPF records to my domain?

An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record helps ensure that email messages sent from your domain are from authorised servers, reducing spam issues.

Here’s how you can set up and refine your SPF record:

Basic SPF Record Configuration:

For general use, involving our mail servers and web servers, your SPF record should start like this:

v=spf1 include:soverin.net include:secureserver.net exists:%{i}.mta.spf.extendcp.co.uk exists:%{i}.web.spf.extendcp.co.uk -all

Steps to Create Your SPF Record:

Generate Your SPF Record: Use the SPF Record Wizard to create an appropriate SPF record.

1) Log in to your Domain Control Panel using your Web Control Panel login details: https://www.managethisdomain.com
2) Navigate to ‘DNS Management’.
3) Update Your DNS Records:
4) Locate ‘TXT Records’ and enter or copy and paste your SPF record (above) in the ‘Text’ field.
5) Click ‘Update DNS’ to save your changes.

Propagation Time:
– DNS changes may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate.

Optional Additions:

For Exchange Server Users:
– Add exists:%{i}.exch.spf.extendcp.co.uk if you are using our Exchange servers for email.
For Mailing List Tool Users:
– Include a:maillists.extendcp.co.uk if you use our Mailing List tool within the eXtend Control Panel.

Additional Considerations:

Hosting Platform Users:
– Ensure you include the domain extendcp.co.uk for correct email routing.

Updating Your SPF Record:

Regularly update your SPF record to reflect any changes in the servers you use for email sending to ensure continued email deliverability. By properly configuring your SPF record, you enhance your domain’s security and improve email delivery effectiveness.
