Most domain extensions have what is known as a ‘redemption fee’<\/em><\/strong>. This is a fee charged by the domain registry<\/strong> when a domain registration expires and enters the Redemption Period and the domain registrant decides to retain the registration.<\/p>\n

For 30 days after the expiration date the domain will be available for renewal during a grace period. After the 30 day grace period, the domain will enter a hold period known as the Redemption Period for another 30 days. After this, an expired domain will become available for anyone else to register.<\/p>\n

The fee shown below must be paid to us along with the appropriate renewal fee to bring a domain out of redemption and back into full working order. <\/p>\n

Only the domain extensions shown below have a redemption fee. If a domain extension does not appear below, there are no fees required to bring it out of redemption. However, please bear in mind that more domain extensions do exist, so their exclusion below does not mean they have no associated redemption fees.<\/p>\n

There are no redemption fees for Nominet UK domains (.uk, .co.uk, .org.uk<\/em> and .me.uk<\/em>).<\/p>\n
